Rock City - Valier MT

We went over to Valier to fish for walleye in Lake Francis but also heard about this area called Rock City -- it's an area off the Two Medicine River just a few miles north of the tiny town of Valier. The large sandstone rocks have been cut through by the river and the site is occasionally used by the local Blackfeet tribe as a worshiping place. We visited during the mid afternoon so the light was not the greatest but it was so interesting to walk around the hoodoo's and the canyon is massive! The next time we head that way fishing, I will go back at sunset!

Thanks for sharing the story and images. Both are great. But, you did not say how the Walleye catch was?
Looks like a great place to go to photograph and put it on my Bucket List.

Fishing was great! Brought back our limit of walleye -- all were good size - anywhere from 20 inches up to 24 inches.
