I’m thinking about investing in a Canon EOS Rebel, and is love to hear what y’all have to say about the camera and the equipment id need. I also have taken tons of random pictures on my IPhone and posted them on my photography Instagram page which y’all are welcome to follow and critique. @boerio_photography! Thank you and I look forward to hearing from y’all!! ☺️📷📸

Welcome, Tiffany! Nice to see someone youngish on here! As far as cameras, what is your budget for buying one? I have a Rebel t2i and love it - bought for my son's college class but he never used it after. But, as more experienced people here will tell you, you can get decent used cameras and lenses to up your game right away for less than a new one.

Hi, Tiffany, welcome to UHH. You can learn a lot here just by posting some pics now and then and ask for suggestions for improvement.
The Canon EOS is a great one for just about anything. There are fantastic lenses available for it that really helps your images. I have a Canon EOS T5 and it's been terrific for my purposes and I have 5 different lenses: 18mm-55mm kit, 55mm-250mm zoom, kit, 50mm prime (nifty fifty),10mm-18mm wide angle and a 35mm macro.
I think you'll enjoy yourself here and you will learn a lot.

Welcome to UHH. As a College Instructor of photography my suggestion is for you to visit a camera store, handle the equipment and see what fits your hands and needs. Just like cars, each is a little different. They all take great photos. Take a few classes in photography at your local college or adult education facility. Try to have an open mind and explore as many facits of photography as you can. Pick as many brains as you can. It's not the camera that makes the photograph it's the person behind it clicking the shutter. welcome.

Welcome Tiffany! I looked at your IG. Some really cool composition and vision in your images. I have do doubt that whatever equipment you purchase, your passion will be the key to capturing great images.

I agree with a previous post: Go to a camera shop and look, touch, and feel. If you are up front with the sales person, you should not be pressured to purchase anything "right now", and the information you get will be priceless.

Also, refurbished and used equipment can save you a ton of $$ and my allow you to get better equipment from the get go. If your camera store has a used section, make sure you check it out.

Last thing, and I find it a positive, the learning curve from a phone camera to a DSLR is HUGE. But don't skip it and get stuck in the "auto" modes. Pixels are free, and experimentation with the camera, lenses, and their settings is the key to being able to translate your vision to image. Don't let it intimidate you, but rather seek it as the challenge it is. Best of luck and enjoy

Welcome Tiffany. You may also want to consider a Nikon D7000 series camera. The D7200 is currently on sale and offer a lot for a small budget. Right now they have a Kit that includes a D7200, 18-55, and a 70-300, with camera case for $896.95, that is a savings of $650.00. The D7200 is a very reliable camera that offers everything you would use for the near future and beyond. As you learn you can add lenses to the body.
Good luck and keep on shooting until the end.

Without sounding like a brand "homer".... This is a GREAT deal on a FABULOUS camera that should keep you busy learning and capturing great images for decades!!! If I was starting from scratch, this would be something I would seriously consider.

Hi, Tiffany!

Rebels are excellent cameras that are priced reasonably, and you can get a lot of mileage and excellent photos from them. A Rebel is still one of my primary cameras.
