At our local park pond people throw the ducks some kind of feed pellets. A group of Grackles gathers there, too. and have managed to develop a brief hover maneuver to snatch this food with their beaks.
Awkward and difficult-looking, nevertheless it keeps them from getting their feet wet in the pond scum.

I love the colors - and in addition - it's an outstanding shot 
As I said, the colors are wonderful, and there is such great light and texture I'm awed to find out that what I had thought was an ordinary little bird I have seen hundreds of times, turns out to be an amazing beauty
