With that attitude, we would still all be in Europe staring westward at a flat sea! As far as housing the homeless, you can get expert advice on that from the local politicians of San Francisco, Los Angelos or Seattle.

NASA didn't send dollar bills to Pluto. The money paid salaries of people here in the US. It supported numerous businesses who were able to provide jobs. It promoted research that has benefited all our lives permananetly. It helps our economy just like any other expenditures and the taxes it generated keeps things going.
