Mt. Washington Cog Wheel Steam Train
I saw Jay Pat's post of May 7 and was reminded of these pics I made in 2003 of the train on top of Mt. Washington after having driven up in the car (a harrowing experience.) Camera was an Olympus C3020Z 3mp.

Very nice!!!
I remember being told this was a trestle railroad. The track/trestle was heavily anchored to the ground and the train "pulls itself" up the mountain.. No tracks on the ground except for the station ends.
I think I heard this had changed and all tracks are on the ground, now. I hope someone can verify.
The view at the top is what I didn't see, when there.
The fog was so heavy, I had to be led outside to the locomotive......

Great shots I really like the last one with the bright colored train in the distance rounding the bin, the smoke riding, and the mountains/clouds in the background! Very nice!
