My favorite trans Sierra passes will soon be open for me to visit beautiful east Sierra spots along Highway 395. These were taken last fall and I held off posting them because I wasn't sure I liked the effect of the smoky air., but I have grown to like them. Posting them may push me to get back over the mountains sooner! In order, these were taken north, west, east and south of beautiful Bridgeport Ca. The third shot was from Travertine Hot Springs, overlooking Bridgeport. These might look a little better in download.

I love the Sierra's and miss them and will be traveling down 395 late May...thanks for deciding to share them Rockdog!!

Phil, these are beautiful! In number 3 the smoke provides a moody feel but it is still a lovely shot. The fall colors in the other three are warm and rich. I'm glad you finally decided to post them!

Bridgeport is a great place to stay for access to Bodie State Park. I always stay at the Walker River Lodge. I just wish there were better places to eat in town.
