I used to teach my 6th graders that, when we think we are sitting still in our desks, we are actually moving at least 4 ways. Since we were near the equator, we were spinning at 1,000 mph as the earth rotated. We were moving 67,000 mph as the earth raced around the sun. The solar system was moving almost a half million mph as it circled the black hole at the center of the Milky Way, and our galaxy was zipping through the universe at around a million mph. Now, since it is hard to push a log across the lawn, where'd all the energy come from to put all the mass of the universe to such fantastic speeds?

Relative to what?
Everything else?
What exactly?
Light?
I think I see that!
Well it was there a split second ago.

All going somewhere/nowhere fast! You are right though, and we will all get there at nearly the same time! Good thing going in circles on a planetary scale doesn't make us dizzy!! Or, maybe we are all permanently dizzy..........

Thats right! The THEORY is that everything is relative to the speed of LIGHT! Or is it that the theory of everything is relative to the speed of light? I guess the joke went way over your dead at the speed of light. OH my! There it went again.

That could always be the case. I guess I typed too fast, what I meant to say was "dead head" or did I just mistype the word head. That was so long ago when dealing with the speed of light or was it relativity or was it relative to the speed of light. Thing can become a blur going at this speed.
