Checking my camera out after dropping it, and looked thru lens all I see is gray light. I change lens and everything worked . Looking at dropped lens, not mounted on the camera everything looks okay. Is the lens broken?

Have you tried putting the suspect lens back on the camera after you found the camera to be okay?

Send the lens to me—address will be provided in a private message.
I will let you know if the lens is broken. By the way, what lens is it?

What happened? I never dropped photo gear....not even when I was an epileptic 5 year old. Were you drunk, or just careless? Did a Bengal Tiger attack you as you were shooting nude photos of The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders? You should learn about these wonderful preventative inventions called 'Camera Straps'.

Put the lens on your camera. Take any image you want, now, mount another lens and take the same exact as you can scene. Now, compare the two images.

Crossed my mind, but I didn't want to encourage another response from him. I liked Kmgw9v's reply better!

I use camera straps mounted to the tripod mount on all my cameras. I've never dropped a camera, BUT have had the strap catch on a chair, a railing, a rock wall.... Having a strap doesn't guarantee complete safety of your equipment. Give the guy a break, this forum is for learning not berating.

do you repair lenses? I have a Sony lens that needs fixing. Turning the barrel does not make the lens move in and out. Focusses good but have to manually pull it in or out in order to zoom
