Well here it is May 5 almost Memorial Day 05/27/2019.
I would like to contribute this challenge to our fallen heroes and loved ones. Paying Tribute to ALL VETERAN’s Of ALL NATION’s even the ones that are still serving today. So for this challenge I would like to see anything relating with the Armed Forces past or present and even the jobs that they do in the background. Even Reenactments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you Transbuff for hosting this very meaningful challenge...my in-law side of the family for every generation here on American soil there was a family member in the Armed Services, some points they were in different branches sometimes making family gatherings interesting to say the least, then it skipped a generation were there was not one family member in the services...then my daughter joined the US Army, then her cousin joined, then another cousin joined the US Navy and yet two more joined the US Coast Guard, reviving the family's contribution to the Armed Forces with one twist...they were all female! So there is a monument in the center of a nearby town, it is so large I have broken it down in sections tonight I present the first part of a four part series.....

Nice ones here HWG, can't wait to see the rest. Interesting story you have to share especially all females. On one hand I think that is great but on the other side please tell them to be careful. And thank them for their devotion to a great nation. Bob

What a wonderful tribute to all those that have served, all those
who continue to serve, and to all those that will serve...thank you!

And thank you, Bob, for hosting.

These images all came from our trip to Arlington National Cemetery
earlier this year, and include images of the Honor Guards at the
Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers (there are three.)

Most of cousins are out did 4-6 years, daughter put in 12 years and was put out on a medical that she initial acquired at boot camp-but at the time President Obama was doing cuts and when she committed to a re-up of 8 years (giving her 20 years at the end entitling her to pension) she got called out on her medical (which didn't stop them from sending her to Iraq twice, Afghanistan once and 2 tours in Germany) it was political but to be honest I'm glad she is state side and safe though its too late for all the grey hairs I got while she was gone...one cousin still reserves and one still Coast Guard both of which have never left the states...in fact out of all of them my daughter was only one to actually leave the states...the only thing that really bothers me about her service to her country is the fact that we can never discuss anything political...she still lives by "The President is Commander and Chief voted in by the citizens of our country we are to follow his commands and leadership" and every time politics get brought up at a family gathering she has brought up that comment and leaves the room...

Beautifully presented Bob, wonderful start for what I'm sure will be a fantastic tribute to our Fallen, and to those who currently serve our Country.

Oh Yes I remember those days The Commander and Chief, you take a vow and are expected to live up to it as I always said be Steadfast, Loyal and True to that oath. I must ask, you mention pension did she receive that? Have a friend 1 year from his pension, they booted him out to stop the pension. He was a Major in the Air Force. Go figure!! But I also believe in 2 things - You should have served in the military to become Chief, and you have to learn to Follow before you can Lead!! Thanks for the come back. Bob
