Good morning, Donie, from the UK.
I've used Fuji X-Series cameras for 6 years, now on my T2, and always believed it impossible to get the shutter count of these cameras unless you have a X-100 series or never altered the frame numbers in the menu system. However, as a result of reading your post, and being one who tries to assist others on this site, I thought I'd just see "what's the latest" on this topic.
Lo and behold, a quick Google search comes up with this (dated April 13th of this year) which makes interesting reading for me, you, and most probably most other X-Series users on this site .......
https://www.apotelyt.com/photo-camera/fujifilm-shutter-countNow I'm one who's never altered the frame count on my camera, and I don't take loads of pics - I've never been a "spray and pray" (burst mode") shooter - and I knew that I'd taken between 2100 and 2500 pics with this particular camera - and I entered my last-taken RAW file into the apotelyt website - it came out as 2418.
I've been a member here since 2012, albeit UK based, and for no reason other than I'd like to get a T3 for the better features it has for my kind of shooting, I'd be content to sell my "low-mileage, very clean, looks- like-new" T2. Post and packaging between our two countries is easy these days, so, if you'd like to discuss it further, please contact me via Private Message. It would be "body only", but XF lenses are readily available these days.
Kind regards from "Robin Hood Country" in the heart of the UK.

Rumor has it that Fuji will introduce the T-X4 in the Fall of 2020. If you are like me you would not want to wait that long. In my case I will be (more than likely) in the form of a pile of ashes in some sort of urn come September of 2020.

Check on mpb.com. That’s where I got mine.

Perhaps you might "fiddle" to a less macabre tune, dear chap, and let us all hope that you last the distance.
But we are all individuals ...... and I buy (and sell) when the correct opportunity arises. I only use/need one camera. My T2 is a little gem and would be a great buy for anyone wanting a copy of this camera.
Only factual certainties mean much to me, but I'm certain that, when it does arrive, the X-T4 will probably be another APS-C groundbreaker.

What I might do is sell off my Tamron 150-600 that goes with my Nikon D750 and get the 80mm macro for my X-T2. I use the X-T2 a lot more than I do the Nikon D750 and I have used the large Tammy only a couple of times. Makes no sense to keep around collecting dust.

Craggy, as you know I'm always glad to see your posts and most of them trigger my curiosity. Would you mind sharing the most important features of the X-T3, that you covet?

And, if you're anything like me, you may end up getting rid of the Nikon and lenses, while you can, and going "sole Fuji" !

Well, we're in a "buy/sell" section here, and I'm not one to hijack others' posts - but the major answer to your question is the faster auto focus with the 3 lenses I have which, although among Fuji fans' favourites (23mm f1.4, 35mm f1.4, 56mm f1.2), have not been widely lauded for their fast focusing with earlier X-Series ........ with the X-T2 I accept it as a slight hiccup and work with and around it.

Thank you for the succinct reply. (and, I'd forgotten that this is the buy/sell section)
