For me as a newbie this is the most difficult thing to do birding and the most fun...ESPECIALLY when you start editing and see that it was a success. In the 2.2 seconds that the D850 fired off 20 frames it NAILED this raptor and later the bream every frame ...D850/Sigma CONTEMPORARY hand held. (couldn't have done this with a F4 prime zoom)...GET THE FEVER FOR BIRDS IN FLIGHT!!

I've caught them coming out, but not going in!

Maybe there is still hope! I usually use the D500 as opposed to the 850 for the bird. Gee, maybe that's the problem!

It really can't be my slowness and need for new glasses.

Great set. I really like shot #3. You can see how they hold their feet perfectly going into the dive.

A very well done sequence Vic ! This looks like the same place Mark Smith goes ! 8-)

As mentioned, not many people using the 850 for this type work - most using the 500.

What is an f4 prime zoom ?? - I am puzzled........thanks for sharing !
