We all, well, almost all, have cell phones. I'd like to hear from you who have tried multiple cell phone cameras which you like the best and why.
Please, no photos in your replies, I just want to read what you have to say.
I currently use a Samsung Note 4 and after looking at the new Note phone, was not impressed with its capabilities.
Have read about the new Google Pixel 3 on various review sites, but don't trust review sites aa much as my fellow UHHers.
Thanks!!!
Haha - I've had my Samsung Galaxy S-III for over something like six years or so.
(It takes nice pictures.
Obviously I don't need the latest and greatest phone.)
I have the Note 9 and the only thing I find the camera good for is macro photography. Gives unbelievable detail. I can see unbelievable detail in Aphids that are extremly smaller than Lady Bugs.

Wife's Samsung Note 8 takes excellent photo's, my old Samsung J7, not so much. Large hands, slippery little phone, never good...

The one you have with you!
Choose a phone based on OS first, then applications, then camera. The cameras are all pretty good at this point.
I use an iPhone 7 Plus, which is several years old, but still available new or used. I see no need to upgrade yet.
All the high end phones take good pictures. They can't compete with a high end DSLR, but they do pretty good. I took a picture of a scene in New Mexico last year with both my cell phone, Samsung S8, and my DSLR, Canon 5D Mark IV with 24/70, and when printed side by side on the Canon Pro1000 on large 22x17 paper, the phone picture lacks detail that the DSLR didn't.
My point is, any cell phone that costs $800 or more, is going to take pretty darned good pictures.
My family have both new models of Samsungs, and of Apple iPhones, but no Google 'phones. Both the Apple and the Samsung take rather amazing close and mid-range pictures, and for small prints and for projection they are both competitive with my full frame DSLRs. They're also both very easy to use, and the Post Processing in both, while rudimentary compared to LR and PS, are also quite astonishing for these tiny gadgets.
I personally chose the Samsung solely because when I first started with cell phones, the Samsung were superior - no longer the case. The differences are tiny, so just flip a coin or try to find the best deal.

This one sounds pretty potent, 4 Sony sensors, I do not own this phone, new recent release, just read about it; Huawei P30 Pro - 40MP and 5X/50X Dig. zoom , I think it cost around $900.00 USD
I'm still trying to figure out how to make/get phone calls with my DSLR. Then, I can scrap my cellphone.

A great point Bob. Maybe camera manufacturers are going the wrong way. They already have cameras that take incredible photographs, with the consumer's help of course. Perhaps they should be looking at adding a phone to the camera. Of course in 50 years there will probably be some method of a person thinking of calling someone and in a nano second that person will be talking in our ear. I am 73 so I will most likely be long gone.

Good advice. Sae for me, my iPhone is a few years old and for the amount of photos I take with it, I am good!
Cheers!

Can you hear me now? (I think I need a new banana.)
Wait until someone hacks the camera and starts taking all kinds of pictures.
