This NP is about 35 miles east of Alamosa, CO where the flat land meets the mountains. The wind blowing from the Southwest piles the sand up against the foothills and has created a permanent series of dunes the tallest of which is about 750 feet above the floor.

Very nice. I really like your presentation in the fourth one.

There are some "interesting" streaks in the upper right 1/4 of the first one.

I can't remember for sure but those may be where I removed some power lines. Thanks for you comments.

Who would thunk it? #4 is beautiful. I had no idea there were dunes there. But then, I've only been in that area once.

OMG, another addition to the bucket list! Beautiful in it's desolation and imagery.

It is truly a place to see at least once in your life.

Thanks! What is the non-exceptional stuff?

Speaking very subjectively here, but the road shot and the eighteen random tourists dotting the landscape shot do not compare to any of your others. The first shot in the series is what prompted me to look at your post. As Bob (more judiciously than I) pointed out, the 'lines' --or partially removed power lines-- in the sky detract from what could be otherwise be a superb image.
