Camera Rescue, Finland just hit 50,000 film cameras saved since 2018.

So many question who is using film. Well, I seem to have little problem selling film camera's about 20 years now. It supplements my retirement nicely. Now along comes this notice from the web site Kosmo Foto about a group called Camera Rescue. Here is a link to the article on this obviously very active movement to save and provide film cameras to those who still use them. Film activity seems to be good and remember, only Medium and Large Format cameras are still being manufactured new.

Yes, it's just the beginning of the "niche" market film is beginning to become, but film production is rife with new film being announced and film camera prices holding, some rising.

Hmmmm. I still shoot film, 35mm & 4x5". Odd article, what do they do with all the repaired cameras afterwards? Says nothing about donating them to worthy photographers. Is it a charity? The author might consider an English lesson: "Want to give or sell your unused film camera to Camera Rescue? You can contact them via their website or drop them a line on Instagram or Facebook." UNUSED? They can't mean to be that fussy. Hey, in that case please send me (PM me) all your used Rolleiflex, Hasselblad, Leica, and Sinar cameras. Perhaps unused film?

I looked at their sales site. Much digital gear, not fully overhauled, and a D3200 body for a mere 215 Euros? That's about $240. Body only. Really?

I think it's the owners' bank accounts that are being rescued....

Unused may mean no longer in use by the owner.
