That was my first full frame. No regrets. It's still a great, versatile camera. Even if I ever "upgrade" to a camera with more features, I'll probably keep it as it's rugged, dependable, and takes amazing photos. The color is beautiful. Easy to get nice images. Go for it!

Can I ask why you regret it? Just don't like the Z?

Being a Canon/Mac person, I just bought the Canon 5D Mark IV. Body only because all the lenses for my 50 D fit the 5D. If you have different lenses for your 60 D, you may want to check if they fit the 5D. Just buying the body was a much better deal for me. Good price at B&H. As for age-well at 70, you may have 20 years-go for it.

Don't know if they will do it again, but last May, Nikon offered the D750 with the 24-120 and a battery pack for $2k total, so I bought it as my first FX camera. 1 year on, real glad to have bought it. I never had any issue with distortion, I love the lens and camera combination. It focuses real close, and is sharp at all apertures. I bought 3 77mm filters, a polarizer, a UV, and a 10x neutral density from Lenskins, all are excellent filters. Yes, it does weigh a bit, but handles nicely. When I want less weight, I'll stick on a 50mm, or another prime. Don't be put off that it came out in 2014, it is still more camera than most people ever need.

I know there are supporters of both brands in the UHH but I can't afford the Canon full frames at this point and, at 72 years old, I'm not sure I will be around to fully enjoy a 5DIII or IV.
Am I thinking about this too deeply, or should I just go ahead and do it?
Thanks for any advice.

If you want to save a few bucks Nikon has a sale on refurbished gear for the next few days. D750 is $1079 and that lens is $499.

Carl.... I'm certain I am not alone here in wishing you the best results for your treatments! As for the camera, I can't tell you - I don't have one, but I did recently purchase the Nikon 200-500mm. I use it on my D5500, and I absolutely love the results I am getting. You might consider renting one to see if you like it. Read the reviews all over the internet and youtube, too. Good luck with your decision; and certainly with your continuing fight! Prayers for you, friend!

Tho I'm not even fond of SLRs, I did buy a 750 with
24-120. If you don't mind hauling it around, and if
you carefully calibrate the autofocus micro adjuster,
it is a reeeeeeally great package. If you mainly use
sooc jpegs, it's a best bet ... not saying that there's
a problem with the raw file software, just happens
that it is king or kings jpeg-wise !

The lens is, acoarst, not a pixel peeper's wet dream.
But as wide ranging zooms go, it's as good as any
other modern lens, IOW no non-geek will ever have
any complaints. Illumination is rather even, the VR
is very effective ... which is more important to hand
held real world shooting than optically miraculous
lab test results. I will very likely switch to a Z-series
body, but I would most definitely KEEP the 24-120 !

That part in particular bears repeating.
So let it be written and let it be done !

Take a look at Canon’s new ff milc, younger brother to the milc ff R, the RP. Lot to offer at $1300.

Have you used a Nikon before? It seems an
odd decision to decide to change brands to
simply get to full frame. The EOS 6DII kit
is about the same price. Granted, Canon
doesn't have a full-frame model that matches
directly to the D750 and Canon doesn't have
a full-frame zoom as "long" as the 24-120.
Other than a full-frame sensor and price, are
there specific features of the D750 that make
it the better choice to the 6DII or Canon's
more basic mirrorless full-frame, the EOS RP?
br Have you used a Nikon before? It seems an br ... (show quote)

Not much really.

Just the ergonomics and the imaging.

Possibly the F-mount access to legacy
optics, but thaz a sorta niche thing.

Just to add in my $0.02. I moved up from my d7000 which I loved to d750. Kept both with no regrets. The d750 is a great camera and as has been said here, all the camera you may need.

I agree with go for it. I am 70 and plan to add to my lenses with a 200-500. I couldn’t be happier. The Cannon vs Nikon is a sideline discussion. If you want to switch, then switch. Life is good but short.

Going to add my .0002 worth..
Bought a nice refurbished Nikon 5100 after not really shooting film for years.
Couple good lenses, but...
1. After shooting film for so many years.... I just couldnt get used to the smaller "look" thru the lens.
Take the same pic with a cellphone, a pocket camera, a DX camera and a full frame. To me, what I see thru the lens is whats important. The full frame just seems more "real" to me, dont know how else to explain it. I do take tons of cellphone snaps, but thats mostly cause I'm driving all day for work., Better that than nothing.
2. After using Canon film cameras for so many years, my brain just had problems switching to Nikon. I had a half dozen different small digital cameras, but they were only for snapshots. Wanted something better for scenery. Want to get some decent size prints to hang on the walls.
3. Bought 6D a bit before the 6DII came out. Like it, still learning.
However, the glass is heavy. Have a 1.8 50mm, a 24-100 and a 100-400.
And a nice new tripod!
Oh. I'm 76. Damn, it hurts to say that! But being an old lady, I can also get away with shit. 😁

I like your attitude Krash.... I too have a 6D and the equip is a LITTLE heavier and bulkier than my Oly gear but my suggestion is to USE that new tripod as much as possible. I bought mine for tripod use and just luv it to death. Good Luck, Bob

72 is not old by today's standards. You could live to 92 or beyond! Buy whatever will make you happy.

72 is the new 62 nowadays. As long as you understand the facts good or bad GO FOR IT!! It’s a great camera and you should keep your Canon crop too!!

NSCLC? Moffitt? Medical and radiation concurrent? NSCLC highly curable - others may be a little tougher. Any two of the three and you're in good shape - although you may not think so for a few days after chemo. Three of the three - you're golden. Get the camera and lenses, you'll enjoy them for a loooong time!
