And I'm not being facetious. To make my monthly visit to my mom in Tucson a bit less stultifying, this last weekend I planned a hike in the vast trail system behind her neighborhood. I was actually pretty ill with a stomach bug that almost prevented my going, but the lure of this hike was too tempting. Though I overdid it slightly, I was not sorry I set an early alarm to hit the trail before anyone else got there. That didn't last, of course, and before long I was sharing the trail with at least a dozen mountain bikers and several hikers. They don't know that I'm accustomed to having places to myself here in NM, however, so I forgave them.
Thanks for looking. I hope to explore this trail system more each time I go to Tucson, though after next month I may have to wait for cooler weather. I will share my findings here.
Number 1. Both literally and figuratively. Hell --whoops! this is family friendly territory, so O My Heck-- YES! (Which is to intend nothing against the other images....)
You forgive more easily than I do, though.

Yes, Number 1 may be my favorite too, for its quirkiness. As far as the forgiveness...I'm on their turf. I did actually manage to scramble to safety from the first bike guy (and took a surreptitious photo of him). He never saw me which gave me a thrill.

Hi SWFeral. Really beautiful photos. The trail you refer to wouldn't be in Saguaro N.P. East would it? I would definitely have to wait for cooler weather than you will find in May in Tucson. Mid April is my limit. Last time I was in that part of the world it was 106F. in mid May.
It's the Tucson Mountain District of Saguaro National Park, so it's over the mountains west of Tucson. I appreciate your advice, though. Because I was hiking along the west side of a ridge (Bobcat Ridge, the sound of which I liked), I was in shadow for the first half of the hike. Believe me I am no longer a fan of direct sun; living at 6000 feet in NM has taught me how intense it can be. The sun, though not the heat, actually feels gentler in Tucson! Thanks for commenting on my efforts.

Wow .. I hope you get out more often .. can’t wait to see the shots later when the temps cool ... I really enjoyed your variety of shots .., each one tells a story ..1) the scene .. 2) the photographer who kept hiking to get the shots ..., well done ..

A Fantastic set of images!!!!
I like #1 best of all!!!
Some really nice compositions. My own preference would be to have both the foreground cactus, or other plant, and the background mountain, in focus. For those scenes that would have to be done with focus stacking, aka focus merging. I've found it to be a wonderful tool and the only way to achieve complete front to back focus with some scenes. But that's strictly personal preference of course.

Love these! A fantastic set of images!
Steve
Wonderful, creative series. You took a wide expanse and turned it into beautiful landscapes and captivating close ups. The shots are well executed and well thought out.
Very enjoyable series. We went to the Saguaro National Park (east) this winter and enjoyed it very much.
Totally different presentations. Great job!
The compositions of No’s 1, 3, and the last one are wonderful - my faves for sure!
