This images depicts what I enjoy most about having attracted birds to my yard. Sure its not a bird in its natural environment but what's natural about the yards or neighborhoods of modern times.

The birds are adapting to changing conditions while thriving and provide an opportunity to see and record it if we choose. I think of it as an environmental portrait.

I agree, Joe. Also, feeding them the types of food they need is a real contribution to their well being in these times of diminished habitat.

Joe, you know how I feel about it. Being somewhat limited in movement feeding the birds is one of my enjoyable activity. I have friends that may not agree and I accept thier position and I believe they accept my position also.

Yes....all the wild life are adapting constantly to the availability of food sources , good & Bad. So I feed all the critters now and then to keep them around during the lean seasons and they are rewarding me with their presence.

Thank s for making the point. It matters greatly.

It's called "urban birding" and is critical to helping the birds find food and shelter in their ever shrinking natural environment. You are doing a service.

And I'm being rewarded with photo ops without the time, effort, and expense of traveling to locate them.

Great catch Joe. This is a departure from your usual shots without a feeder in view. This one is more humorous to me. He is trying so hard to reach that peanut without letting go of the branch. All that aside, this is a beautiful portrait.

Thanks Jan.

Thought rather than displaying just the bird I would show some behavior. Its the behavior that enhances their appeal for me.
