Currently we have three species of sparrows visiting the yard...House, Tree, and Fox sparrows.

The most interesting and fun to watch is the Fox. It feeds on the ground, rakes the ground with each foot in sequence to kick up seeds and insects. The action creates a little hop straight up between pecking the ground. So far I haven't been able to capture it.

So here is a House Sparrow instead which is abundant and easily captured.

Nice shot Joe. Fox sparrows just showed up here today and I am watching their little hop-skip right now. Beautiful bird. Hundreds of Juncos and Redpolls going through the last few days, but no Tree sparrows yet. A few Pine siskins here yesterday.

Thanks Mike. It looks as if the last of the Juncos have left here, finally.

I don't have access to my files at the moment but I'm pretty sure it was the Sony A7R3 and 100-400 f4.5-5.6. I also use the A6400 with this lens for birds.
