I met this fellow in Vancouver BC Gastown. He was a really nice guy and didn't mind me taking his picture at all. I think it is better in black and white rather than colour. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

There is a story to be told and each viewer will write his/her own script. Mine is - “I wonder what ....”

epic photojournalism... beautiful ambient illumination... virtually without defined shadows suggesting heavy overcast (mother nature's softbox)... such a poignant look... so enigmatic...

"Any suggestions" maybe remove the vehicles at top of frame in as they are somewhat of a distraction.... if you have issues with achieving this in post then consider shooting this type of scenario at distance with a 300mm f/2.8 (or similar)... fast long glass does wonders for subject isolation...

Thank you for sharing George, really it is nice to see this level of expertise in this forum...
All the best on your journey

Hi George , here is the result, (posted with Georges permission) I used content aware fill doing 2 selections, the big and the small. I had to do another small fill on the larger selection. As it was a bit bright I duplicated the layer and in camera raw filter took the highlights down a bit ignoring what the subject looked like. Back in PS I put a mask on the top layer (the one with the filter) and with a soft edged brush took away the mask over the subject and lower part of the picture to reveal the original picture you posted...

Hi Diamond. Yes, just about everything about this man tells a story. I wish everyone could sit down and listen to him like I did for at least 45 minutes. He is not homeless...lol...by any means. He dress like this on weekends to relax...yes, to relax. The watch he is wearing is a Rolex, during the week, he is a investment manager. Just a great man and he knows his stuff about investments and stocks etc...wow.

That makes it an awesome story. How to get away and stay in the same place to just watch the world go by.

Nice street image that appears to be candid, but your description states otherwise. The removal of the cars works best and is more appealing, which eliminates any distractions, IMO.
