I want to buy a good quality point and shoot for infrared photography. One that has been converted would be ideal.

Maybe titling this something like "WTB - point and shoot for infrared" would produce more responses than "Classified". I think you can still change the title in this section.

I learned form some one here in the forum and converted myself on my old Panasonic TZ-3 P&S to a full spectrum IR camera. I am very happy with the result, I use it with a Hoya R76 IR filter, and I already ordered another 850nm IR filter for trying different wave length of the IR.

This was taken with the 720nm filter.

Lots of newer members don't realize that the search feature on UHH only searches titles, not posts. So the more generic the title, the less easily interested people can find it. Hope you're able to change it and that someone with a good candidate responds.

Thank you! Of course you can do that. We all are learning every day. Be patient, get the right equipment and start experiencing what you want to do! Good luck! By the way, you may buy one already converted or send your camera to be converted, but it's not cheap. Company charges $250 or more for converting.

I have been doing infrared for a number of years. I don’t know what technique you used to take that photo. A 720 nm IR photo with correct in camera white balance doesn’t look like that straight out of the camera.
For examples of what a 720nm photo should look like go to these two websites. Lifepixel.com and kolarivision.com. They do IR conversions of cameras and have lots of info on infrared how to shoot, process etc.

Yes, I know and did visit this Lifepixel site, and learned a lot from them.It was not straight out of my camera, it should be red/pink all over if it was straight out of the camera. I like color IR image more than black and white IR. I do it by adjusting the blue and red in PSel. and got the color what I want. You know, IR picture is faults color imaging anyway! Some people like it in back and white, some like the other way!

If you don't have an old camera to sacrifice, Life Pixel (www.lifepixel.com) has converted cameras fairly inexpensively available. I had an old Canon T2i converted last year and they did a great job.

With a proper white balance the photo isn’t pink or red. From that you manipulate the colors ie channel swap.

Paige: As AndyH suggested, change the title to this post.
Look right above your name for "Edit Topic Title"
You may get more responses and anyone using the search function will more easily find this.
