Kildalton chapel lies in the SE corner of the island of islay, it's a 13/14 century chapel with a 8th century early Christian cross in its grounds, it's an iconic shot here on islay and has been photographed many many times.
Here's my take on it, l lit up the interior with my headtorch (3 shots) and blended them into the main shot of the chapel which was lit by the bright moonlight. My only regret is l feel the door is blown out, but it still gives the scene a nice atmosphere l feel.
Thoughts ?

Nice photo, the bright doorway is fine, it seems as though a divine eminence is about to emerge. this being Easter and all. (@ saparoo: That is more probably a satellite.)

Great shot Colin. It is so much more spectacular in the download. Great balance of lighting.

I like it. When at a site like this I try to imagine who the people were, who were there at the time it was constructed.

Nice set up you put together. I don’t disagree with your assessment. Perhaps next time try diffusing your torch light so it’s less intense. Good work.

I love the mood of this image, Colin. A bit of mystery, and unsettledness. The door gives a feeling of the supernatural. If it does bother you, you might clone in the color that's in the windows, and paint that in, maybe even at 60% opacity and see if that improves it for you.
You don't post often, Colin, but what you do post is always remarkable and inspiring.

Actually three of them if you look closely. Very nice shot of this scene!
