Inkjet printer recommendation

I was hoping someone might provide a recommendation. My Epson R3000 broke and unfortunately it will cost more to repair than replace. A memorial service will be held, as I loved that printer. The gentleman at the repair service-while breaking the cost of repair to me-recommended an Epson P600 as a potential replacement. Any thoughts, comments observations on this model? Any thoughts on additional printers would be appreciated. I do print larger format to 8 x 10, 5 x 7. Thank you.

I have been using the Epson P800 for a couple of years. I believe the P600 is a smaller version. If so, I do recommend it. It has good paper handling and colors look very good. I print a lot of 6x8 and they go pretty quickly.

Suggest you read the one and two-star reviews for this printer. There arenโ€™t a huge number of them, but they are significant re clogged heads, bad design, trouble downloading drivers, short-lived (20 sheets in one example) expensive ink cartridges, etc.

I'm assuming you use the printer for photographic images.
If so.... look no further than the Canon PIXMA PRO-100.
Nothing else comes close to it.

Look very closely at HP printers. They also have an ink supply system that is superb. I have used them for years and very well satisfied.

I have had two Epson P600s and both died with clogged print heads that cost about the same price as a new P600. They lasted just long enough for the warranty to expire.

The good news is that I purchased the Epsons with a Visa credit card that doubles the mfg's warranty. Full refund from Citi that funded the Canon.

Fired Epson, and now have a Canon Pixma Pro 100 that I am happy with.

Agree. I have the older Pro9000 Mark II - never jams, never clogs, great colors, pricey cartridges X 8. Bought mine on 11/20/2012 (Amazon).

I use Canon Pixma Pro-100 (13x19, 8 ink) and love it. It hasn't clogged once in 3+ years of intermittent use.

When there are deals on them, they can be had for less than $100 (including 50 sheets of Canon 13x19 paper, after MIR)! Unbeatable. Watch out for B&H in particular and get on their e-mail list as they often send out codes that do NOT appear on their website.

There was a canon pro-100 sale at B&H for $75 along with the paper. May be over now but they go on sale often. Canon makes the money on the ink as they are $16.99 each x8. Get all 8 in a bundle for about $120. They never run out together so end up getting a few at a time. Light grey always seems to go first. ๐Ÿ™„. But, excellent printer!

Canon Pixma 100. It does beautiful pictures. It is slow, but worth the wait.

Canon pixma Pro 100 is what I have. Paired with the free Print Studio Pro plug in, itโ€™s great. If you can wait, these frequently get discounted with rebates that are very generous as the profit is in the inks, not the printer. Often theyโ€™ll throw in Pro paper too. Iโ€™ve not had good luck with Edson, hence the Canon and am very happy with it.

I bought a Canon Pixma Pro 100 earlier this year and it is great, prints up to 13x19". Even though it sits for a week at a time without printing it has never clogged. The color quality is spot on. B&H has them on sale often, came with a free pack of 50 sheets of 13x19 paper and a deep discount.

I use HP printers exclusively. Had an issue with a Cannon. The one thing I look for is one that the print cartridge and the print head are one unit. With many of the newer printer the ink cartridge is separate from the print. If the print head goes bad on this type of printer bad news new printer needed. Just my opinion.

I have a Canon Pixma 110, portable. Battery powered. Awesome little printer you can take anywhere.

It prints great & the ink seems to go a long way.

I like that it has only 2 cartridges to fuss with. Black & Colour. Not 3 colour & a black like most printers.

This printer is a joy to own. So convenient & it's wifi too. Hooks up to my laptop & ipad, iphone no issues.

Paul :)
