Grey turns Blue

Using an Epson Artisan 1430 printer calibrated with my iMac monitor, as the Rednecks of Texas would say, "Something ain't right!" The first picture is what is seen on my monitor, the second is what comes out of my printer - all greys are blue, most other colors are close to normal. Any suggestions?

check what is controlling your printer colors, either the software or the printer will be selected. Switch to the other option and see if it helps. I only print from Photoshop and let the software control the colors on my Epson 1430. Never had a color issue, even with CIS inks.

Thank you for your suggestion. I'll check it out.
Oops. Need to ask just how to determine which is in charge?

Possibly a blocked ink nozzle. Print a test page from the utility menu. If one or more colors don't print properly, run the "clean print heads" utility. This may have to be run more than once.

By the way, it's not just the greys that are off. Look at the grass.

Thank you for your suggestion. I agree the colors are off. I checked the link nozzles for blockage and all appeared to be fine.

My first guess is that you have BOTH your software AND your printer controlling the color. It should be one or the other - NEVER BOTH. Check out the Red River Paper website and learn about color correction. It may seem daunting, particularly when first accomplished, but it will become easy over time. If you want good output it is something you really must do. Best of luck.

Would suggest you check your ink to see if you have all ink available. I had a similar issue with my Canon Pixma Pro 100 and turned out my magenta was out even though the low supply message did not show up.
The magenta (and others) mix to get proper balance for color. Good luck.

Thank you for your suggestion. I'll do that later today.

Thank you for your suggestion. The Artisan 1430 stops immediately when a cartridge goes empty. Interestingly though, refill the cartridge, hit the paper through button and it begins to print where it quit and I'm unable to determine where it stopped and started.

(I also responded on the main forum)

Are you refilling your own ink? Could be a bad batch.
