This can be said about any Northern State today. Wisconsin is no better. We squandered our money for the past 8 years when the idiot Department of Transportation Director decided we needed roundabouts more than smooth roads. He got fired, but too late. Damage done, money gone.

I assume that tax money will be used to "fix the potholes", so if you are a Michigan resident you are in fact putting money on that whether you like it or not.

It’s not just Michigan - it’s all over the country. People want good roads but bitch and moan about the taxes they are already paying and that gasoline is already way to costly, and governments keep cutting taxes on the people with all the disposable income. What ‘cha goin’ to do?

We assumed the money from the last gas tax increase was going to fix the roads. "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me".

I heard today that the feds want to raise the gas tax 25 cents across the board. Then in Wisconsin Evers wants another 8 cents per gallon. When does this end? I'm ready to move out of this tax hell hole

The worst part is that "repairs" are often a hap-hazard shovel of patch, left for cars to compact. Its as if they care about the illusion of repairs. The "gov types" never acknowledge that drivers realize otherwise. Perhaps thats because people keep voting for "those types".

Unfortunately "those types" seem to be the only ones running.

Road building/repair technology seems to still be in the dark ages.
Or maybe that is the only technology the politicians look for as the will
likely be out of office when the building/repair deteriorates.

Actually, I live in Texas. However, I pay taxes on a home in Michigan that is part of a trust of which I am the trustee. The taxes in Michigan are quite a bit lower than those in Texas, which may explain the problem with road maintenance in Michigan.

I grew up in Michigan.

The tire & front end alignment industries have combined to form a powerful lobby in Lansing.

Your taxes are always going to go to those that have paid the politicians the most. It makes no difference what party. They're all in it for the power and your money.
