I don't want to subscribe to Photoshop on a monthly basis and want an Adobe Photoshop CS6 program (disc) to download on my Windows 10 computer. Is this possible and where can I purchase it most economically?

No longer available from Adobe or Camera stores like B&H.

Look on Ebay.

Okay, I will thank you, but I just might look into Affinity, as well.

How about buying Adobe Lightroom 6 - standalone (no subscription)?
Note the features and read the reviews.

If you have CS6, why would you want to subscribe to CC? And if you are subscribed to CC, why would you want CS6?

What's wrong with $10/month for Lightroom and Photoshop? It's a steal. You can quit if you don't need it anymore or if you don't like it. I don't get you guys that think it's a scam or something. You pay a minimal fee monthly for the latest up to date photographic software that used to cost thousands of dollars and quickly became dated unless you paid for costly updates.

I won't try to answer your question as I now use the latest version of ON1, which I prefer to the Adobe products. However - I have been wanting for some time to make a general statement relative to some of the responses seen to questions asked on the "Hog".

Why are occasional responses totally irrelevant to the facts given and questions asked, and in some cases indicating that the question never was read - or at the very least, understood?????

As others have noted, standalone Photoshop is not available from Adobe at this time. You can look on Ebay or places like that but you take your chances there. Is it a pirated copy? Do you get the installation key with the software?

Have you considered GIMP? It's open source software and easily installed. It is NOT Photoshop but will do many of the things Photoshop will do. The UI is distinctly different so if you have been using Photoshop there will be a learning period to use GIMP.

I've been using Affinity Photo for 4 months now as a replacement for PS. I think it does some things better than PS, some not as good. Many of the actions between the two software's are similar. I like it enough that I would not go back to PS. Affinity Photo is around $50.
There are a lot of good tutorials on Affinity Photo. I am using Capture One as my raw editor - which easily round-trips to both Affinity and PS.

Is not Affinity a RAW editor in it's own right?

That's pretty much self-explanatory and it looks to me like your question holds the answer all but the part about lonely people needing attention or a feeling of participation. It doesn't matter if their comments are relevant or not, they're simply exercising their right to speak.

I have been using Affinity also and I agree with Dandev. I am seriously thinking of dropping PS. While $10 a month is not expensive, by the end of the year it's well over $100. That counts!
