Camera Bag Recommendation

Any recommendations on a camera bag (either a shoulder bag or sling bag) because I like to carry it with me as I take photos during college baseball games. I would like to be able to lay a Nikon d7500 in the bag with a 70-200mm 2.8 lens attached, so it is ready to use at a moment's notice without having to attach lenses and worry about any abstract hitting while sitting in readiness. I would also like to have space for an additional 300mm 3.5 lens and accessories such as SD cards and extra batteries. My lowpro slingbag is not long enough to lay the lens in it or deep enough for it to sit on the camera back in the bag. Although I say I want it big enough to hold this lens and body, I don't want anything enormous because I will be carrying it around all day in the hot sun chasing the shots. Any recommendations any of you may have on bags that have worked for you would be appreciated. Thank you:)

I love the Billingham line. Fairly plain looking, waterproof, and very well padded. A lifetime product that you will leave to your kids.

Not cheap, but often found used at bargain prices on eBay and other sites.

I use one of the ThinkTank rolling bags for sports and I think it works great. But they have others that might suit you just fine.

Look at Domke. An F6 should be long enough. I use a D7500 but with the shorter 70-300. The 70-200mm is almost 8 in long. The internal F6 is over 11. If not, an F2. See my link for a clip modification. The F6 is nice for it's front zipper pouch. https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-493653-1.html

I have a lowepro slingbag that I bought after owning a Protactic AW450 and another smaller/lighter Lowerpro and found the slingbag to be virtually useless. However, the AW450 is too big (great for transporting all my crap when I fly but dont like carrying it all day.

If you want to put a 7500 with 70-200 attached plus a 300mm on its own plus (during transport to and from the field) another body and lens. Then my mid-size Lowerpro can handle it.

You simply need to go to the website for Lowepro (or thanktank or domke etc ) and look for a bag with the configuration you described (you may have to transport one of the bodys separate from the lens but you will attach them together and carry it as soon as you get to your shooting location). They all usually have a raincover and lots of pockets for batteries and SD cards so that is not an issue. Get a "light" one. Again the AW450 is really heavy but it can carry 2 pro bodies and 5 lenses (including a 70-200). I recently went to Hawaii and I had 2 bodies, 70-200 2.8, a 150-600, 50mm, 24-70mm and coould have taken 2 more <85mm lenses easily...it weighed A TON. (also brought my midsize backpack crumpled in my suitcase to use for daily outings :-)

I would also recommend carrying both bodes and lenses ON YOU rather than having it in the backpack
BlackRapid has a great dooublestrap (there are other options) and you can also find some cheap alternatives that will work too.

I find that backpacks are good for transporting but find them a little cumbersome to make changes with on the fly.

For sports/events/weddings especially, it is more convenient to simply have the 2 bodies on me and I can instantly use either when I need to.

Think Tank Line of bags works for me.
Well made.

My suggestion go to a brick and mortar store with your stuff and try different bags. If you buy on line, B&H will let you return the bag. Good luck with what you do.

I have a LowePro Magnum 200AW shoulder bag. I took out the dividers and put my Nikon D500 with attached 80-400mm lens in the bottom. LowePro Magnum series bags are the strongest shoulder bags I've ever seen. They have a one-piece molded bottom that can take a lot of weight. The three Magnum bags are the 200AW, 400AW, and 650AW.

I use a Lowepro 200 Aw Shoulder bag. It will hold two cameras with lens attached, (24-70 & 70-200) a flash, spare batteries for everything, spare cards, business cards, and more. https://www.lowepro.com/us-en/nova-200-aw-ii-lp37142-config/

There are a million and one camera bags out there with various features. I took my gear to the store and tried them out for the gear I was interested in carrying. Depending on the intent of your outing, you may end up with several.

For running around all day shooting marathons (a similarly exhausting exercise) I use an Adidas sports bag with a Canon 80D and 70-200 2.8. I also need a little more length occasionally, so I just keep an extender (teleconverter) in the bag (I prefer a 2x but a 1.4x is fine too.) It is a lot easier than carrying a second long lens and is considerably lighter as well. I will be using this set up on Monday in Boston where my wife will be completing her quest to run all of the six major marathons.

You mean - she's no intention of doing any marathons, in the future? …

How big's the medal, DS?
