Google "recover deleted files from SD card" Also, many card manufacturers offer free recovery applications (SanDisk is one that I have used). Whatever you do, don't use the card again until you try and use the recovery application. Good Luck!

Hector Welcome to the forum and what Machinedoc gave you is the correct response.

RECUVA from Piriform, (free testing available), recovered every file from 4 hard drives that got hit by a hacker. (Afterwards I purchased the software plus a few others.) I have since used it a few times to recover a file I had accidently erased.

I use this program. I think it costs $29 to download?

Be sure to figure out what you did (you did something) that deleted those files. People in my office used to say "I didn’t do anything". If you can’t backtrack, you need to study up on your computer's operating system for managing files.

Sandisk recovery or RescuePro recovery may work, as well as other similar programs. If that fails take your card to the nearest Best Buys (in the USA) and let the "Geek Squad" try their recovery programs . They also can send it in to industrial strength recovery folks that can do wonders, but you will pay dollars for that.

The recommendations for do-it-yourself software are excellent. Just remember that the less you do to or with the card before running the recovery software the better.

But if you are uncomfortable with doing it yourself you can take the card to a professional camera store (assuming there is one near you) and have them do the recovery. There may also be local data recovery services, and the fee for a card recovery is usually much less than say recovery from a crashed hard drive.

Usually they will charge a nominal fee, but will have more sophisticated (hence expensive) software and experience using it.

The camera store route is what I did several years ago with a card and images from a once-in-a-lifetime European trip my wife and her sister had taken.

Many download programs will automatically delete your files on the memory card after download. You should be able to disable this feature.

Recuva is available at "https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva" and offers a free version that does a good job.

I've done that before. That's aggravating! Thanks for the tip. I'll remember that.
