Hey guys, after not doing any photography for about a million years I picked up a Sony RX10III for my trip to Alaska in May. I am by no means even an amateur photographer, but I do have a good eye for photos...and that's about it. As far as aperture, shooting in RAW, etc...I have no idea what I'm doing. Hoping I can learn a lot and fast. I live in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains so I also have a great area to practice.

Thanks. I work rather crazy hours and don't have time to do any practice shots today or for the next 3 days which is a bummer. As soon as I got the camera in my hands I just got the bug to start taking photos. The reason I chose a bridge camera is that well, I'm lazy to change lenses and carry them around like I used to. I would loved to have go up a level on the camera to the IV but to get back into it...I had other accessories and gear to spend on so I had to cut the budget somewhere.

I have been out every day since I got it (just a week ago) figuring it out. I'll get back to it next week but I'll have time to do some reading in the meantime. Thanks for the encouragement.

Welcome. we love Tennessee, have friends in Maryville and often visit, we used to camp at the KOA in Sevierville, that overlooked the baseball ground and had free baseball.

If you are visiting Hoonah in Alaska, do the private whale watching. Fantastic photography even from the berthed cruise ship.
