I don't understand what happened but somewhere along the way I've gotten old. I am a hunter for as long as I can be although I am setting up a macro studio. I can no longer get down on one knee, let alone two knees or prone, and get up again without help. Are there any devices or methods that will allow me to continue to shoot ground level subjects for a while longer?

I got my Garden Kneeler today and it's everything I hoped for. It is relatively light and of course it folds up into a compact package. Does not require assembly It allows me to kneel within 3 inches of the ground and leaning forward I can almost reach a prone position. It is sturdy enough to allow me to lever my 240 pounds back to a standing position safely.

Thank all of you who suggest this and other methods for me to try.

Reversing this stand allows you to sit and work on your car or other mid-height items and offers the same assistance standing up.

(Gasp) Work? Did you say work Don't you know 'work' is a four letter work that should never be uttered in the presence of a retired person? That word could send them into shock or worse. But yeah, I tried it both ways, I sat on it in front of my favorite orange tree and shot bees. Sure beats to heck out of standing.

Get a Nikon D5xxx. The fully articulated screen lets you put it on the ground and look down on it.

The D5600 is latest model about $500 refurb. It has touch screen which is also marvelous to use with D5xxx control scheme through info screen. But if money matters earlier models are fine also.
