Hello everyone. As the title indicates I'm a ground floor learning to crawl newbie to photography. I just recently purchased my first "Big Boy" camera, a Canon Rebel T6 with two kit lenses. It came with a 18-55mm and a 75-300mm lens and a bag. I think I want a 50mm prime lens but I should probably learn how to use the camera first.

So the first thing I did was buy two extra batteries and three memory cards so I won't be caught out for power or storage on a day trip.

I'm very excited to be getting started, and look forward to the all the help and advice those of you with more experience can offer.

These are my first attempts with the camera not on auto.

Do the cookies and the robo dog come with the Canon Rebel T6 kit now?

Welcome to UHH. I am a big fan of primes, but whatever you do, don't let my opinions influence you! Most people here love, love, love their zooms.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I love my T6 and I have both of those lenses. I also have the 50mm. It's great for low light situations.

There are lots of experienced photographers here on UHH that can help you learn and grow. It will help if when you post your photos you also check the box Store Original. That way we can see a larger version of your photo as well as your camera settings for that photo should you have any questions.

Enjoy your new hobby! I know I do.

Why do you think you need a 50mm prime? I almost never use that focal length myself, plus you have it covered with your zoom.
