Raw (NEF) file developed in both Luminar 2018 (1st) and Affinity (2nd)
Luminar Raw Develop: Adjust Contrast to 30 & Clarity to 10
Accent AI Filter - Boost to 15
Saturation = +15; Vibrance = +8
AI Sky Enhancer to 67 (probably shouldn't have done this)
Affinity Develop Persona: Contrast +30%, Clarity +10%, Saturation +15%, Vibrance +8%

Sounds like the adjustments would be the same (except for the sky enhancer)

Feel free to use (or abuse), criticize, make suggestions, etc. I CAN handle the truth!

#1 has a blue/green colour cast and #2 has a blue colour cast. That should be sorted out first before trying anything more elaborate. Looking beyond that, #2 seems to have more vividness than #1, which may be simply down to the adjustments.

I agree with RG that the balance is off. I cannot think of a time of day that would be this blue. #2 does not have download clicked on. I think the picture is cropped too tightly and is not that interesting. Posting the original would give us a frame of reference. Was this picture meant to be a moody interpretation or a faithful one? The result reflects ambivalence.

The second one has better contrast but the blue color cast persists. To correct the problem use equal amounts of red and yellow in Color Balance till you are satisfied with the results.

I have the same trouble with Luminar 2018. I almost always have to adjust the white balance and saturation at the end of any session to get the colors right. I contacted their support and the problem is supposedly fixed in Luminar 3.

In an online app called befunky, on your second photo I added a little more red and reduced the blue. You mentioned "sky enhancer." Was that the culprit of the overall color cast?

This started out as a test of my shooting the Tamron 18-400 handheld.
It's actually a picture of a picture on my living room wall, shot from the couch.
Aperture priority, f8, 1/20 sec, iso 3200, lens fully extended to 400mm,
WB incandescent (I think I should have changed to daylight).
Morphed into comparison of the 2 softwares.
I'll be heading back to the drawing board later on. What did they go back to before the drawing board was invented? Beware of Part Deux 😈

How do you add the "titles" ?

Thanks to all for your comments, but I thought Hoggers could hit harder than that. 😈😈😈

There are a few quirks with that process. The best way is to add a photo, write the caption in the box provided (the white rectangle directly below the image), click "update" in that same area, then do the second photo, and so on - being sure you click update below the image immediately after a caption is entered. Only after you have finished with the captions should you write your text in the comment area.

If you write your text/comments first, they will disappear If you write a caption and don't save it via the "update" button below the pic, the caption will disappear

Fred, in PP Forum we stress respect and constructive feedback. You didn't provide a lot of information as to what you were looking for, and your history is not lengthy enough (probably) for most folks to know you, your experience, your interests. The WB issue, which appeared to be the primary issue, is well addressed by the respondents.

Hope you'll visit again!
