New to Digital Just getting back into photography after 40 plus years away from it. Digital is way more confusing but am now retired and time to learn and absorb. This shot was with my daughters Nikon D40 . Have just purchased a low shutter count Nikon D3100. Let the learning begin I am located in the Okanagan in BC ,Canada

Welcome to the forum. Digital is worth learning. Instant Gratification by looking at your image and histogram.
Welcome to the forum, and to digital photography! Love the photo, shows you still have the "eye" after all these years. The D40 is no slouch; my first DSLR also. I had done film for many years, and never thought my transition to digital would be so swift, but as soon as I got my first digital camera, I almost never even picked up my FM2 anymore.
The basics are the same. All you need to learn are the "bells and whistles" of the new cameras. Exposure techniques and composition techniques are the same. Post production is the hill to climb. Just stay patient and shoot, shoot, shoot! Great shot btw!
Welcome. Have fun learning.
Welcome to the forum. Very nice image.
