If any of you saw the other (which was deleted at my request), I have redone. The first was too flat, did it late at night
A creative, engaging and unique image! Did you try different positions for the perch? Wondering if something closer to 45 degrees (or less) to the bottom edge would work?

Thank you very much Linda and yes I think you are right, the rear end of the perch would look better lower down...
Will do a re re work...
I did see your first go around and did comment on it. This one is so very much better. This one looks more believable than your first attempt. Perseverance sometime prevails.

Hi NJFrank, yes I did see your comment o the first one before Linda asked if I wanted to delete it. I agree this one is much better, shows not to try different things when you are tired..
I am pleased you like this one better and I agree with Linda that the perch could be lower at the far side...
I think your idea is very creative and as far as art goes it does not need to be perfect however, as someone who has worked in a museum years ago, I am bothered by the balance of the bird in your cage. The toes should wrap around the branch and the body should be balanced. Look at your original and imagine a line vertical from the foot showing how the bird is naturally balanced and note that in your cage the bird is falling forward as in launching into flight with nowhere to go or falling off the perch. On your original bird there is a very subtle shadow that when duplicated with a brush might help anchor your bird visually to your perch. Composites are a lot of fun and thanks for sharing.

Thank you for looking Waterfall9, I could say that as the cage looks to be swaying a bit the bird is keeping its body straight
I know it is not perfect but I am going to do another one and will keep your comment in mine... Using puppet warp for the birds feet was not the ideal tool to use as it was hard to see what was happening as it was small and the puppet warp was very close.. I am going to try something different. I do not normally forget shadows to anchor but on this one I did...
