Here is the basics on physicians writing off billed amounts. It is only one part of the research you should do before you make a fool of yourself again.

You are questioning fraud. Fraud is rampant and I have helped in the prosecution of more than one provider and several healthcare systems to fight that fraud. None of it had anything to do with the feds and most had to do with insurance company fraud.
I have never hinted that there is no fraud.

When you use deflection, it works better if it is on topic not made up.

You are the source of fraud.

No real answer just grade school name calling. Come on I expect better from a professional diversion expert. Try harder.

I am puzzled why many of the threads you participate in seem to make you quite irritable and combative. Is it safe to assume that this is your preferred method of enjoyment with the forum? I am not being critical, but rather curious.

So, you want single payer? I for one do NOT want the government to control health care. I do not want to give gov't. the right to choose who gets what kind of treatment. BTW You are NOT forced to buy Auto Insurance. You don't HAVE TO buy a car. mAnd if you don"t use public roads you don't even need a drivers liscence. I had a car in my driveway for 5 years. No registration, no insurance.

I guess you do not have Medicare ....... yet .....

If your doctor is writing off balances of self-pay bills then they are breaking the law. Insurance uses what is called “usual and customary”. This is based on billed charges. If the physician routinely writes off any self-pay amount, it means their “usual and customary” is false and that is illegal. It is why physicians cannot routinely write-off balances for employees or hospital employees.
Physicians can write-off balances on individual patients but not as a routine for any specific group of patients.
If your doctor is writing off balances of self-pay... (show quote)

Your understanding of legal precepts is astounding.

Many, if not most, doctors do free work.

What does that have to do with anything? All of us should be doing free work, it is called charity. Don’t you do free work.

I wonder if the naysayers also want to eliminate federal subsidies that provide free lunches, breakfasts and even summer programs that specifically feed children. Soon we will likely provide paid parental leave to parents.

Actually I do have medicare. I and my employers paid for it. And if all that $ collected for FICA was put in a fortune 500 fund, I would not need medicare as I would have private insurance . AS the birth rate declines ( for many reasons) the population ages and there are not enough younger workers to support socialo security. It goes bust in about 15 years, if nothing is done.

Not true. Tell the republicans to quit borrowing against it and it will last past your kids.
