These were originally posted as part of a Photo Challenge and one member suggested they would make a good stand-alone Topic. So here it is.

I think that's enough for now. All my bridge photos (some not very spectacular) are at https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/sets/72157707838141014.

Thanks, all! I appreciate it that you looked at them and liked them. The original posting in the "Challenges" section wasn't intended to be particularly worldwide--just a bunch of photos I liked. I was late for the Challenge and someone there suggested my post would make a good set, so I ran with it.

Before creating that post I went through all 45,000 of my photos on Flickr and created an Album there of just bridge photos--to my surprise there are about 750 of them! Of course, many of them are from a distance or with poor lighting or other things wrong with them, but there are quite a few that I consider at least "good". Maybe I'll put together another set some day.

Very nice. Bridges are one of my favorite structures and some are engineering marvels. The older ones built before all the present day equipment are truly amazing and many of them are still standing after 100s of years. Bravo to the builders!

Very nice! I’ve always felt bridges are among the most beautiful things humanity builds and you’ve shown that well.

Just a note FYI, the Brooklyn Bridge spans the East River between Brooklyn and Manhattan, not the Hudson River between NY and NJ.

After looking at your great PICS I decided to look for more. I came across this site which has about every bridge in the country. Just go to the location icon, and get lost for hours!

if anyone knows of other sites like this share the info..

Damn these are incredible. You have been everywhere !!!! That one in Italy where people built their homes on it was off the hook. And the older one in New Zealand was classically beautiful and probably the one I adored the most.

Nice work indeed and thank you for sharing your gifts with me.
