Amazing how this tree still lives! It has sunk in from a few years ago, but hopefully it will stand for years to come so others can enjoy.
Looks like on hell of a yoga position.
Interesting set. I like #1 the best, except for the cut off tree top. Second choice would be #7 Vignette it a little to disguise the one limb clipped off on the top right an I think you would have something.

Oh I have so much to learn, but having fun learning 😊 7 wasn’t vignette, my friends hand got in the way, didn’t crop it good enough lol
An interesting set.
It's amazing how Mother Nature copes with situations.
A rather tragic end of a living tree.
Seeing this, would make me try to save it if I lived close?
Thank you for sharing, Marsha!

From what I am told they have tried to fill the opening under the roots several times over the years, but the tides just wash the dirt away. It’s a Sitka Spruce and just amazing.
You are welcome. My photography is no where near good enough for this site, but I’m here to learn and I love sharing the beauty of the PNW😊
Incredible, thank for sharing
Water obviously creates a grinding, damaging vortex in the hole.
Probably the only way to save the tree would be to build a temporary wall - not allowing the water in.
Otherwise the water will erode more and more - distroying more vegetation farther - eventually finding another run for the river, through so far undisturbed land.

I see so much of Mother Nature here that leaves me stunned it’s still living.
