That sums up more of what photography should be. Regardless of the medium, the philosophy is what's important. It's the art that counts.

The look and click photographers don't understand the art phase. Understand when the light is right, etc, etc,etc

In my neck of the woods we call them click and runs. Click and run to the next spot then click and run again. LOL

If you look a little closer, he's actually shooting MEDIUM FORMAT (on a large format camera), not actually large format (120 roll film back on a 4X5, eh ?).

I still shoot film, 35mm, 120, and 4x5. Actually, prefer that over digital. However, I approach digital usage in much the same manner as film.

I noticed that, as well. I'm not sure I get the point of bringing that into the conversation.

I noticed he's using a wooden heavy tripod. Looks like my Zone VI tripod from Fred Picker that's languished in storage for decades. Are wooden tripods still in common use by large format photographers?

A very good friend of mine who shoots 8x10 uses one. I also have one, but generally use my Gitzo. The Gitzo is an older one. So, it's fairly substantial.

Got it. Heavy; mine probably weighs 15 - 20 pounds.
