Credit card "benefits". Resolved

Back in February I posted on the difficulties I was having with Chase credit card trying to get them to provide a refund on a photo trip I had to cancel for medical reasons. The final results:
I started calling them each Friday for 5 weeks. Each time they promised to finish the claim and call back. They never called. Finally they promised to get back to me by the end of business on Monday and I told them I would file a Fed claim on Tues if they didn't. They didn't call. On Tues morning I filed a claim with the Consumer Protection Agency.(Fed) I sent them copies of EVERYTHING! That afternoon they acknowledged receipt and said that Chase had been notified of the filing.
22 hours after filing, I got an email from Chase that the claim was completed and "a check was in the mail" and 10 days later I received the check. Should have contacted the Feds sooner@

You certainly gave Chase more than they deserved. I would have given them one week only.

I have never had a problem with Chase. I just contested a charge and it was resolved promptly in my favor. It’s not the first time chase has been prompt and fair with me.

Called the credit union gave them the loan number, within 3 hours the cc called back and said my account would be charged the amount loaned and extra $5 doc and ser chgs

It's a shame it took all of that to get what they had promised in the beginning, but that's how businesses make their money - by cheating customers.

I bought a car like that. I was offered a lower price to finance through the dealer. I had to keep the loan for at least three months. After that, I got a loan for the balance from my credit union - got the best of both worlds.

Thank Elizabeth Warren for the existence of the Consumer Protection Agency.
