Couldn't pass up this little guy with a couple flakes of snow. Used a couple Daily Texture textures and a Topaz border. Comments/critiques always welcome. Bev

The colors are beautiful. I also very much like your position and size of the bird within the frame. Negative space is a positive Subtle, gentle, very engaging. Thanks for posting, Bev!

Very nice photo and cute bird. The texture is interesting and does not take anything away from the bird. Mahalo for sharing.

Mahalo JoAnne. I appreciate your comments. I tried hard to find a texture which wouldn't detract from the bird. It took a couple of textures blended together before I was happy. Bev

What a fine looking falcon! You capture him at the High Desert Museum?

While I'm sure you deployed great skill in your PP treatment, I'm not a fan of the effect here. It completely disassociates the Merlin from the context in which you photographed it. It's as if you brought it into a studio for a photo model-esque photo shoot.

My 2 cents and not worth any more or less than anyone else's. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for checking her out globetrekker. Not everyone enjoys all the images, and that's OK. Yes, I shot her at the High Desert Museum and didn't like the background. It was all snow and the white was overwhelming and took my eyes away from the Merlin. I took one shoot and tried something a little different. Bev

Absolutely love the colours in this image, and the superb texture choice. Beautiful indeed. My personal preference would be to include all the tail, but it may not have been possible.

I like it. The background complements the color of the Merlin and I like the "studio" like setting. I agree about the end of the tail but IMHO it does nothing to detract from the portrait.
