eastern towhees, also called joree birds, sing a telltale song "drink your teeeeee!" "drink your teeeeee!",
and "chewink"!. they scratch vigorously in fallen leaves looking for bugs, spiders, seeds, berries, and,
of course...peanut butter suet.
I am always thrilled to see one and actually
get a shot. the female is equally beautiful but more shy and stayed hidden in the brush.

And I'm jealous!! These wonderful birds are some of my very favorites and are always around the yard, but I've never been able to get a decent shot of neither male nor female. Yours is absolutely perfect, Merry, and tell Mr Tea "hello" for me! You'll soon be seeing some junior 'Teas' following Mom and Dad.
