While we were at a fetish club, a friend was showing us a tie he had just learned at a workshop. We normally don't take camera gear there when they are operating and I wanted a couple photos of the tie. My cell phone was all I had.

The muse was in an under-the-bust corset, a rope neck tie, and a sheer beaded skirt. The tie was done sitting on the floor and obviously prevented her from walking while it was in place, so I captured a few photos standing above her.

I thought it made a good monochrome image and have also included the original.

Thoughts that instantaneously & simultaneously went thru my mind... Is her tie a single Windsor knot? I like her almost smile. Never stand or sit on plastic. (That might come from watching too many mobster movies). Nice rope work. A close-up of just the rope might have made a nice shot. Wonder what type of phone he used? Wonder what they serve at a fetish club besides drinks?

That was it... oh, and interesting pic in B&W or Color.

I think the rope necktie is a single half-hitch - just kind of looped there, her and her girlfriend decided it looked "right"

The floor is kind of dirty by the end of the night, but they have boxes of these disposable tablecloths. It was a slow night and the area where she's sitting is for suspension tieing and that circle is a warning marker below one of the hard points.

My phone is a Samsung S7 - it takes good photos for a cell phone.

The club is dry. It serves soft drinks and coffee and people that attend often bring covered dishes. There is a big social area with large round tables where people chat and eat. Not serving alcohol and not having a food prep area allows the club to let its members enjoy full nudity if they desire; some law loophole.

It could also operate as BYOB, but the owner doesn't think alcohol and impact play are a smart mix. Some people sneak adult beverages but for the most part everyone obeys the rules. It is not a sex club per se and I've rarely seen any purely sexual contact. Most people come for impact and rope play, to see and be seen, and to network. Unlike many adult venues there is no discrimination against single males but surprisingly few attend.

Photography is allowed if everyone in the frame consents to having their photo taken. Occasionally I see a nice mirrorless camera, but cell phones seem to be the norm for most individuals.

Sadly, there is seemingly no end to the silly laws that remain on the books across the country trying to regulate the morality of adults. The owner is likely right about the BYOB thing, so many folks are instant A-holes when alcohol is added.






Cells have indeed become the norm for most folks, and i suspect over the next handful of years they will become moreso for many photographers as well - especially amateurs and hobbyists.
