Don't want to burst your bubble but, more than likely that was a college writing assignment. It's not unusual for students, especially, English lit students to get an assignment to write something that is completely opposite of their core beliefs.
Now, do I know for certain this was an assignment? No, but, I'm pretty sure he didn't actually run over a child and then write that it made him feel good because he felt like confessing to a felony.
There was nothing in THIS article about running down children. I think what it points up primariy about Beto is that he's #1 short on substance and #2 high on himself. Having watched his senate campaign in Texas I observed a highly energetic cheerleader (we can do it, let's pull together), but low substance (issues). I thinks this article showed this clearly. I also learned some things about his moneyed backgroung that I was unaware of and his willingness to accept money from those corporations that he rails against. If you were reading, Frank, you would have seen those things, too.
