What a capture! Belongs on the cover of the National Geographic.
Could be titled: "Spring is in the Air"
Beautiful capture. Thanks. Can you let us know where the photo was taken? I don't recognize the species. Here in San Diego we have two dove species visiting our feeders: Mourning Doves and Eurasian Collared Doves. Surprisingly, they both share the feeders with no conflict, even though the Mourning Doves are much smaller than the Collared Doves.

That photo was taken just off our back deck, here in northern Scott County, KY. It is a Mourning Dove, very common around here, and about the only ones we see at the feeders. Had one White-winged Dove show up once, eat some seed, bullied the other common doves, and then flew off into the woods, never to be seen again. Experienced birders told me it was such a rare sighting that I should log it in eBird, and I did.

National Geo has something called Your Shot. Anybody can send in photos and you never know what might get noticed!
