I took this pic several years ago with a Nikon Coolpix. Recently imported it into lightroom and just removed a couple of distracting signs and cropped it a bit. Would appreciate comments. Thanks

I would try three things:
1. Crop some of the right side of the picture.
2. Convert to B&W
3. Apply a light sepia tone.
I like it. The exposure and white balance are very nice. It does seem you've softened the details a bit in the noise processing and I think maybe there's some details you can recover by revisiting the sharpening. Try using the masking option, if not already.

Thank you. I did and it does look better (I think).

Just an idea.
I like it. How'd you do that?

I used Lightroom. After cropping I added some black,
adjusted the white and highlight sliders to get some
texture in the sand but still keep it light. I lowered
the shadow slider to show more detail in the sky and
increased the clarity slider which increased the contrast
in the midtone values. Lastly, I used the vignette to
darken the border of the picture.
My eye finds it hard to focus on something -- the stairs or the driftwood.
I think the mono color version makes it more cohesive.
