Thanks Jan, I see you live right down the road a little bit, wondering if you belong to the New Smyrna Photography club.

Terrific shots- in this case your 50 mm lens came in handy. I have 2 or 3 old 50 mm lenses- f1.2 /1.4- Nikon and Pentax. I have taken pics of flowers wide open and the backgrounds rendered creamy, smooth. Your pelicans are very sharp and colorful with excellent detail.

Thanks Suntouched, I saw your post for Fuji lenses in the Buy/Sell I was kinda tempted because I have no Fuji lenses for my X-T2, only vintage lenses for that camera, but I have a bunch of lenses for my Canon bodies so I just have to keep telling myself no. If you ever want to get rid of that Nikon let me know, I love old lenses, I have about 40 of them. BTW, I was shooting at f/11 for those birds, I was moving so I had to have a deep depth of field to keep that bird in focus.

The 18 mm lens is still available...

Lucky me- I was given three Nikon lenses (Vietnam era) - 28 mm, 50 mm and 135 mm. An old friend bought these lenses when he was stationed in Vietnam. I bought an adapter to use with the Fuji and the lenses all function well although I haven't done much more than that. I have several vintage Pentax lenses that I have done more with but not for awhile. But soon...
I like the look that the vintage lenses produce- hard to quantify- but there nonetheless.

Blurryeyed,
Image number 4 looks just like a Pterodactyl. Dinosaurs to Birds - no doubt.

I will try and be brief with this explanation, I had an old Pentax K mount 50/1.2 on my Fuji camera which I had planned on changing when I got down to the water to an old 300mm preset lens back from the 50's to early 60's however to my disappointment I had left the appropriate adapter at home. Oh well, I made the best of it anyway. I know that a couple of these are clipped but, I just could not bring myself to leave them out of the post.

I’m impressed. Who would think:Birding with a nifty fifty!! Nice shots.
