Sydney, Australia (11) - Getting around.
In the city (downtown) walking is easy, howver there are good bus and rail services. I would not recomend using a car in daylight hours. We think parking is very expensive.
Further afield driving can be ok (keep in mind we drive on the opposite side of the road to North America and Europe). Driving in peak hours (mon-fri 6am to ~ 9;30 am and ~3pm to 6pm) will be a nightmare. Being retired we try not to go anywhere in peak hour.
The ferries can be a lot of fun and very scenic way to travel. We love them.
Rail services are very good during the week, however during peak hours they will be packed. Also they do not cover all of Sydney (no coverage along the northern beaches).
During weekends trackwork may disrupt travel plans, allow for longer travel times (buses replace trains).
Thanks for looking and more to come.
.
Nice shots - I do remember your ferries and you have such a beautiful, extensive harbor and waternetwork - I love your city!

I visited OZ in 2017. Didn't make it to Sidney. Our tour guide out of Melborne was very proud to tell us that they expected their population to exceed that of Sidney soon. I don't know why that would be a good thing.

I do not think it is a good thing either, for both cities.
