I had a computer with Windows 7 and bought a new one with Windows 10. My problems is in order to post my photos on Hedgehog I have to reduce the files to 800 mega pixals and I take large photos. I do not wish to take small photos but when I transfer them to Windows 10 they are the large files. I have been able to resize them to smaller which seems fine but when I do they go to a file that I do not know where to find them. I transferred by photos form the old computer and what comes up is the old files. And the photos that are taken are put into the old Windows 7 files but the reduced photos do not show up even when assigned a new number.
Refer to these ideas:
https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-512745-1.htmlWhat does "800" refer to? Reducing below 20MB is fine or say 2048-pixels on the long side works as well, or even better, where the file is both small in bytes and large enough, in pixels, to fill the window of most monitors, when viewed.
Try "file / save as" in your editor and point the location of the file to be saved to a known location.

Thanks for you answers. I believe it is megapixels. I tried to download some files preciously and the Admin from Hedgehog said reduce to 800 megapixels or smaller. It was not able to download the larger files that I shoot. When I did that they went right through. Otherwise it was taking all day. Windows 10 in the resize does not give me the option of save as. But only a file that is small enough for email. My problem is not the reduced file size but where to find them once reduced.
Don't know what you mean by "800" either. On your task bar, in the lower left corner of your screen, look for File Explorer. It will look like a file folder. Left click on that and then on the left of the screen look for the "Pictures" icon. Click on the icon and it will show you everything at that location. By default Windows 10 usually stores any photos there. ( When I say "click on" I mean to double click since that is the way most people seem to have their system set up.)

Try spending some time with the link provided. The content should help to distinguish between mega
pixels and mega
bytes and how these two separate issues relate to posting attachments to UHH and to sharing digital images in general. You haven't indicated the tool used for your editing. You might create a folder in Explorer, external to your editor, so you
know the name and location of that folder when later you go to save the edited results.
