The bottle is in 3 pieces. The armor is shiney black that gave me many sharp highlights.

I like this a lot. There's an inviting warmth in the image that suggests to me this is an older smoother whisky. The background is a well chosen perfect complement.

I would like to try and get some light on the left to remove the heavy deep shadow or turn the bottle a little to minimise the shadow effect.

Then I'd throw away the ice and pour a double, light the fire (even if it's Summer) and sip an evening away.

Interesting. I got this at a Christmas gathering and haven't opened it. I'm not much of a drinker and have been happy to just use it as a prop.

This was my second attempt at shooting this bottle. It has bright brass and almost chrome on it that makes it such a challenge. I probably will give it another couple of months and try again. Thank you for the comments.

The Japanese re-named part of Japan "Scotland" so that they could put "Made in Scotland" on their whisky bottles. They also re-named an area "Usa" so that they could put "MADE IN USA" on some of their products. That was a while ago and I'm not sure if it was allowed to stand.

Having the bottle and the glass side by side is probably not the best composition.

Nice set-up, nice result. Would make a nice ad in a slik magazine.

I think if I were shooting this, I would try my best to eliminate the crease that is formed behind the bottle where the two planes form a corner. I feel your pain with the highly reflective surface. That can be a challenge.
