Unless it is a wall poster you will probably see zero difference. 70 megapixels does not necessarily translate into better images.

It just "upgrades" to double the resolution of your 18mp camera, that's all!

Most people won't be able to afford the camera body or the glass to mount on that beast, never mind the space to store files on a every day computer.

But if you wait a few years when they are up to a gazillion MP, some folks here will be saying that the outdated 70MP camera isn't good for anything bigger than an 8x10. Then you'll be able to pick up a used one from KEH for peanuts.

Oddly they are coming out with really amazing glass for their mirrorless but they don't have any high end bodies as of yet. Neither the EOS R or the EOS RP are quite there yet (first generation FF mirrorless) and the 70+ megapixel is very much a niche product. Canon is demanding top dollar for their glass and it could be a hard sell to convince people to move away from a stable of EF lenses and buy really expensive RF glass.

I'd love a mirrorless but I'm waiting a while longer. Canon needs to add IBIS, Eye AF and dual card slots to have me even look their way. I'd also like to see some focus on sensor improvement. In both the R & RP they seem to be very close to the 6DII and 5D4 sensor.

What I don't understand is how Sony was crucified for their single card slots yet both Nikon and Canon come out with the same single years later. It's almost as if no one listens to the customers.

I'm sticking with my gear for now and I have no complaints but as you can tell, I don't understand how marketing sometimes work with these giants.
