My name really is Rogers George, in that order! I'm a tech writer, recently relocated to Pocatello, Idaho, which has some spectacular scenery. I photograph mushrooms for a hobby (they hold still) and have one published book, a photo tour of a small town in New Jersey.

Welcome to the forum. I did tech writing for 8 or 10 years and it is not the easiest job going. Seeing your target being mushrooms, made me wonder if you spend most of your time with a flash or do you just shoot outdoors growths?

I look for my mushrooms out in the woods, and generally try not to disturb them. We happen to live across the street from a large woods (large for Delaware) and I can hardly go ten feet without seeing some. But I'm not above taking pics wherever I find them. For me, the secret is either to wear scroungy clothes or bring a piece of reasonably waterproof cloth to lie on. I like to get down on their level.
